The Samaverse is growing fast, very fast. After dominating the Dotsama NFT ecosystem, we have now set foot in the Ethereum NFT ecosystem. Because of the rapidly increasing size of the Samaverse, it can sometimes be hard for new participants to get a good overview of the new eco they're joining. A lot has happened during Carnage Season 1, of which a lot is still relevant for Season 2.
Currently, there are more than 100+ different NFTs trading on just the Moonsama marketplace. Many of these NFTs came to life using resources, which play a vital part in the Samaverse economics as they're used to craft new NFTs. The Moonsama Multiverse portal makes this possible by exporting in-game resources to on-chain assets such as ERC1155 tokens.
Play a game (currently Minecraft Carnage), gather as many resources as possible, and get part of these resources in your wallet as ERC1155 tokens.
These tradable resources can later be used to craft new tradable NFTs, bringing extra utility throughout the Samaverse.
This is what Play to Craft (P2C) is about, a new gaming mechanic introduced by Moonsama.
Before we get into A & B resources, there are two essential factors to consider which may have an impact on how much resources you earn during Carnage:
GGANBU
Moonsama Power
Gganbu
The GGANBU system was introduced to prevent a resource/reward gap between good and bad Minecraft players. Under the GGANBU system, 80% of all collected resources at the end of the game were pooled and divided equally between the participating Moonsamas. Every player would receive 20% of their total resources gathered + GGANBU for each Moonsama they own/have bridged.
For Season 2, the GGANBU system will change and differ from season 1. Governance will have to vote on the new GGANBU proposal so expect to hear more on this soon.
Moonsama power
Moonsama power can give different perks throughout the Samaverse:
Every Moonsama power will add strength and health (HP) to your in-game character making it harder to kill during the weekly Carnage event. Moonsama whales with >10 Moonsama power receive an in-game Whale Scepter making them an extra tough opponent.
The amount of resources you can bridge depends on your Moonsama power. The more Moonsama power, the more resources you can bridge per Carnage. During S1, the faster you had your fish, the more POOP you received. For S2, this will mean the quicker you receive your fully refined POOP, the more DNA, Blood crystals, and Mobidium you will receive.
Moonsama governance decides the ecosystem's future, like the direction of its new L1 gaming/metaverse optimized Blockchain or the new GGANBU system. The more Moonsama power holders have, the more weight their vote brings. Currently, only Moonsamas have voting power. In due time Exosamas will join in on decision-making and become part of the governance.
Every Exosama & Moonsama bridged into the Same account adds POWER as follows:
Exosama: 1
Moonsama: 10
Neon Moonsama: 100
A-resources
The resources mined/minted during Carnage season 1 are called Alfa-resources. Players collected these resources during the Carnage events and subsequently exported them as ERC1155 tokens, interacting with the multiverse bridge/their wallet. A-resources include A-iron, A-gold, A-stone, A-Moonstone (diamonds) & A-string, amongst others. During S1 Moonsamas, ticket players and a selected number of invited communities could attend, while only Moonsama holders received GGANBU.
The A-resources can be found in The Multiverse Asset Factory section of the Moonsama marketplace.
Around the end of last summer, the community passed a governance vote to cancel the minting of any new A- resources. A-resources are still trading on the Moonsama marketplace and will be used in the future, but no new tokens will ever be minted.
B-resources
The Beta-resources are the (yet-to-be-minted) resources for Carnage Season 2. Because of the high influx of players and to prepare for future growth, changes had to be made to the game economy. The details are still being discussed and finalized, but there are a few things we already know:
minted on the Exosama Network blockchain,
used to craft new NFTs, which will be equipable on your Moonsama & Exosama,
different from A-resources - the team hinted at possible soul-bound resources / NFTs to prevent Davids from trying to abuse the system.
Pumpkins are the first announced B-resources and have been in play since October 17th. Players should collect as many (soul-bound) pumpkins as possible, as they will be needed to craft unique Hallowsama skins and backgrounds for your Exosama & Moonsama.
The Pondsama example
To get an idea of what to expect during S2, let's look at the NFTs crafted using A-resources. There can be multiple crafting levels before reaching the final NFT. An excellent example of this is the Pondsama NFT.
For a limited period, two new A-resources were introduced during Carnage:
A-grain: Grain (wheat) farmed in the Samaverse, exported as A-grain and crafted into A-bait, which, together with a Moonrod, was needed to catch A-fish.
A-string: Dropped by spiders in the Samaverse: exported as A-string and together with other resources crafted into a Moonrod.
With a Moonrod & bait, you could fish for a limited amount of A-fish per Carnage (depending on Moonsama power).
Afterwards you could craft a Fish Offering out of 10 A-fish + some other resources.
After offering the fish to The Sunken One, you would receive a random Pondsama NFT fish.
This NFT battle fish, each with random statistics and (passive) abilities, can be used in the Pondsama game: 2 teams of 5 Pondsamas battle each other until one team is victorious. It can be played using Telegram & Discord.
Pondsama NFT holders eventually got $POOP airdropped, which will be exchanged for $EXN and act as the utility token for the new Exosama Network blockchain.
You can explore more crafting details in the Workbench section of the Moonsama marketplace.
To craft a Pondsama, one had to use 8 different A-resources, all gathered during Carnage and then undergo 3 levels of crafting.
What wasn't known back then was the fact that Pondsama would receive POOP, which is now undeniably the most important asset throughout the Samaverse.
This must be the most fair distribution of any utility token EVER.
Players spent many hours in the Metaverse mining/fighting for resources, some for over a year. Whoever has joined Carnage knows this isn't a regular walk in the park. Carnage is brutal and involves a lot of excitement, anger, frustration, sadness, and cursing (trust me).
Next to Pondsama, A-resources have also been used to craft Samaboxes. The Samabox gifted a weapon skin equipable by Moonsama & Exosama and resources with, for now, unknown utility: bullets, grenade, shampoo, and snacks.

Upcoming weeks will probably introduce a lot of changes to the game economy. I hope this story clarifies the history and mechanics of Gganbu, resources, and crafting. I will see you in Carnage.
