The Raresama foundation
The Raresama Foundation was spearheaded by community heroes @cryptosnarl & @darealgalmay. After meeting with a local city hall representative the foundation received the councils full support in rehoming as many stray dogs as possible. What better city for this to take place then Pattaya, Thailand.
Snarl & May got in touch with a remarkable women named Som. Som has committed the last 12 years of her life to rehoming stray dogs, an endeavor she has funded with her own money and a small amount of donations. The team felt compelled by her story and decided Som would be the first project to receive the foundations support.
The most immediate concern was food. A big shoutout to Donnie who decided to self-fund the entire monthly food supply. In the last 3 months a total of 6000 kilo of dog food has been delivered and more will follow. The Foundations team currently consists of .. members and aims to grow even more.
Currently the Foundation is helping out in different ways:
Feeding, neutering, walking, washing and offering shelter to stray dogs.
Rescue stray dogs living in poor health- and living conditions.
Giving the necessary vaccinations and medication.
Categorizing all dogs with photo's, their names & history.
Including 'before & after photo's' showing how they've improved under the Foundations care.Assisting the Moonsama team with turning the dogs into NFT's.
Looking into the feasibility of different utility idea's for the NFT's.
Whats next?
The next step is to turn stray dogs into NFT's with actual utility in the Samaverse. The thought is that the sales of these NFT's can fund the necessary vaccinations and medical treatment as well as increase the size of the facility and rehome even more dogs.
The NFT's might even create a cash flow which could pay for food, neutering and shelter for the specific dog. Or maybe the owner could actually adopt the dog and fly it over after buying the NFT.
Different options are under consideration and are being researched on feasibility. It's a tricky one since the added utility has to be something sustainable. However, always on the forefront of innovation the team is confident that this is another NFT use case worth exploring.
End station
Raresama Foundations long- term goal is to build their own Raresama Foundation facility in Pataya. The biggest stray dog facility in Thailand where dogs are taken care of while being funded by their NFT holders. When the the Foundation succeeds in their mission of rescuing stray dogs by utilising blockchain/NFT technology in a sustainable matter they might just open the door to a new wave of NFT innovation and fundraising techniques.
